In October of 2023, Angels for Animals Mo donated $24,000.00 of which $8,000.00 went to each of our three beneficiaries: Smelly Cat Rescue, Lucky K9 Rescue and Heartland Humane Society.
We paid the veterinarians that each of them work with directly. Those veterinarians include: The Pet Doctor, Bryan Road Animal Hospital, Gateway Veterinary, Martin Veterinary, and Paw Patch Animal Hospital.

Lucky K9 Rescue "Lucky K9" is a 501 c3 dog rescue group, committed to helping the most needy, as well as the readily adoptable, among our community's most vulnerable creatures. We are a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to restoring the dogs under our care to physical and emotional health as they await placement in loving, responsible homes.
Lucky K9 Rescue is dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority. We work with area shelters and other rescue and humane organization's to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.
Heartland Humane Society of Missouri is a 501 c3 non-profit group of dedicated foster homes that gives abandoned, abused, and unwanted animals another chance for loving, permanent homes through our adoption program. We are 100% volunteer-based and reduce pet overpopulation in our community through collaboration with veterinarians, animal welfare organizations, and supportive individuals by providing humane education and reinforcing the importance of spaying and neutering pets. Heartland Humane Society of Missouri is funded solely by adoption fees, donations, fundraising events, grants and tributes.
This year marks our 25th anniversary of saving pets, and we've helped more than 10,000 have happy endings to their once sad stories. We help orphans found in dumpsters, pets that have been hit by cars and need surgery, animals languishing in shelters on death row and pets whose owners just could not care for them any longer. We have impacted 10,000 other families become complete with the love that a cherished pet can give.
In a world where animals get abandoned and are left with no place to call home. Smelly Cat Rescue is ready to make a difference in the community. Our rescue's mission is to help smelly, outdoor, stray cats and their kittens through rescue adoption, spay/neuter services and community programs.
The key principles that we follow to assist us in achieving our goals are:
- Find homes for sick, injured, abused and abandoned adoptable cats and kittens.
-Rehabilitate cats through quality veterinary care and shelter within our in-home foster network
-Reduce overpopulation of cats through spay and neuter programs and community education.
-Prevent cruelty to cats by supporting animal protection laws.
- Foster compassion towards cats through education.
- Share our knowledge and experience with our community
Smelly Cat Rescue was founded in late August of 2021. To date our volunteer organization has rescued over 400 cats and had over 300 successful adoptions.
